When the Kingdom Choir sang Stand By Me at the royal wedding this year, they quickly went viral.

Their performance for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has been viewed over 10 million times on YouTube.

The UK-based gospel choir have made their way Down Under and will perform at the Invictus Games closing ceremony on Saturday.

And they’ve picked an Aussie favourite to entertain the crowd.

Kingdom Choir’s Founder and Director Karen Gibson says she just couldn’t go past You’re the Voice by John Farnham, and has given Alan Jones a snippet of the song to play.

“What happened was we were coming to the Invictus Games and our management said, ‘I think you should sing a song the Australians like’.

“He gave us a few choices and I chose that one. I really love the lyrics, they’re so powerful.”

When the choir was invited to sing at the much-anticipated royal wedding, many believed Meghan was behind the request.

But Karen reveals that wasn’t the case.

“Apparently it was from Prince Charles because [he] really likes gospel music.

“So it was his idea.”
