Ringo Starr has cancelled several shows in the US and Canada after contracting COVID-19.

The 82-year-old had been playing in the US and Canada with his All Starr band before he fell ill at the weekend.

A spokesperson says he is recovering at home and new tour dates will be announced.

“Ringo hopes to resume as soon as possible and is recovering at home,” the statement read.

“As always, he and the All Starrs send peace and love to their fans and hope to see them back out on the road soon.”
