Revealed: Brisbane institution purchased by ARLC
Brisbane’s famous Gambaro restaurant and hotel complex has been bought by the Australian Rugby League Commission, Peter Fegan has revealed on 4BC.
The long-standing building on Caxton Street has been sold for the first time in 65 years.
It’s understood the league has bought the venue to turn to turn it into a major events space, just minutes from Suncorp Stadium.
“This will change the landscape of Brisbane as we know it,” Peter said.
In a statement, the Australian Rugby League Commission confirmed the news, saying the Gambaro family will continue to operate the venue.
“The hotel accommodation will be rebranded as the NRL and be themed with rooms named after the game’s legendary players.”
