Ray Hadley has announced his engagement to his partner Sophie Baird.

And of course, the proposal came on none other than Grand Final day!

“On that fateful day, Grand Final Day, I just walked into the house and I said ‘are you happy?’ and she said ‘I’m really happy’… and I said ‘do you want to get married?'”

“She’s a fantastic lady, she absolutely has been a rock for me.”

The happy couple shared the news with their children first, before telling friends.

They’ll tie the knot in June next year at friend John Singleton’s Mt White restaurant Saddles, with Reverend Bill Crews to officiate.

“We both want to spend a lot more time together.”
