Ray Hadley has revealed sex offenders were being deported when Greens Senator Lidia Thorpe abused police in a social media video.

Ms Thorpe joined a group of protesters outside an immigration facility in Melbourne, screaming in the face of female police officers.

12 detainees – Ms Thorpe described as “innocent people” – were about to be moved to Christmas Island.

Ray Hadley has now revealed the high-risk detainees fell under s501 or s116 visa cancellations.

The sections refer to sexual crimes of a child and domestic violence, respectively.

It’s not known whether Senator Thorpe was aware of the crimes.
