Ray Hadley puts government ‘slugging states’ under pressure to audit NDIS ‘rorts’

Ray Hadley is calling for the NDIS to be audited with system rorts making the program unsustainable.

NDIS Minister Linda Reynolds yesterday told The Australian state governments will need to share the load with costs to the program currently outstripping the scheme’s capacity.

But Ray would like to see rorts weeded out of the system first after multiple listeners reported NDIS-registered medical suppliers are effectively fleecing the system.

One listener told Ray a bed from an NDIS-registered supplier cost 10 times an equivalent from an unregistered competitor.

“I’m a fervent supporter of this particular system, because I think we need to always offer support to people who are in the most dreadful of circumstances,” Ray said.

“[But] this is just a microcosm of what’s happening,” he continued.

“And Linda Reynolds saying the better way is to share the costs with the state, no it’s not, Minister!

“It’s to actually take a close look, do an audit of the things that are happening!”
