A Ray Hadley listener has become caught up in a violent armed robbery on the NSW Mid North Coast as a police chase spilled onto his property.

George phoned Ray at 9.20am to report the Crescent Head Country Club had been held up.

Police confirmed they had the venue surrounded, with the alleged thieves still inside.

Eventually, two people were arrested and two staff members were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Ray Hadley was reporting a third man was still on the run when George phoned back in with breaking news.

Just an hour and a half after his original call, a police chase had made its way onto George’s property, with the alleged criminal fleeing on foot through dense scrubland next to his house.

“A highway patrol policeman pulled up a little red car.

“A young fellah’s jumped out of the little red car and raced onto my property. He ran off into the scrub directly opposite my place.”

Detective Chief Inspector Kim Fehon confirmed the Dog Squad and local police were hunting the man in bushland.

Police also confirmed the robbery is believed to be linked to a similar hold up at the Kempsey Macleay RSL last week.

“We are certainly investigating the link,” says Detective Inspector Fehon.

“There was a firearm used in that job and we have recovered the firearm today.”
