For several years now Ray Hadley has been having a bit of fun at Alan Jones’ expense… quite literally.

Ray regularly runs the auctions at charity events for all manner of great and worthy causes.

When he sees an item he thinks Alan might like, Ray has taken to bidding on his colleague’s behalf.

Several years ago Alan bought a trip to Disney Land for $22,000 without even knowing it.

Always unbelievably generous, Alan paid the bill and gave the trip to someone who would enjoy it.

Now Ray’s done it again, sticking up Alan’s paddle at the Matt Callander Race Day at Randwick, raising money for The Mark Hughes Foundation.

Things almost got very expensive when Ray/Alan got into a bidding war with Racing NSW CEO Peter V’landys.

Alan joined Ray in the studio this morning to find out exactly what he’d been bidding on.
