Roosters-bound NRL star Brandon Smith has come under fire for comments he made on a podcast about his future club.

He still has 12 months left on his Melbourne Storm contract before he joins the Roosters in 2023.

But in an interview on the YKTR podcast, he spoke about the Roosters and wanting to win a premiership with the club.

Wide World of Sports host Peter Psaltis said he has his doubts about whether Smith would be able to play at the Storm after the interview.

He said the club was seething and Smith had done himself no favours over the comments.

“Boy oh boy, Brandon Smith has read this run so wrong.”
