Former governor-general Quentin Bryce has extended her condolences to the Royal Family.

Queen Elizabeth made 16 visits to Australia, including eight to the Sunshine State and closed the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane in 1982.

Dame Quentin Bryce told Sofie Formica, Her Majesty’s passing will be deeply felt.

“It’s sadness, I think, for people around the world and of course, especially in the UK,” she said.

“We have to remember this is about a family, too.”
