All Queenslanders are eligible to receive a free flu vaccine from now until the end of June.

The free shots will be available at local pharmacies and general practitioners as influenza A cases surge across the state.

Pharmacy Guild of Queensland President Chris Owen told Neil Breen anyone looking to get the jab will need to be patient.

“The phones will be ringing off the hook today and we’ll have plenty of interest in people looking to get their free vaccine,” he said.

“As soon as you mention free, everyone’s going to jump onboard very quickly. We do urge a little bit of patience at the moment.”
