Queensland hospitals receive $200 million boost as COVID cases climb

4BC News

Queensland hospitals will receive an immediate $200 million funding boost.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk this morning announced the money will go toward dealing with increasing COVID-19 infectious and any pressures on the health system as a result.

Additionally, a new Chief Operating Officer has been appointed to oversee the operation of the state’s hospitals.

It comes after the state government yesterday announced 108 new paramedics will be appointed.

Omicron is expected to be the dominant variant in Queensland in days.
