Queensland Health reveals Storm prop hasn’t applied for an exemption
Queensland Health says Melbourne Storm player Nelson Asofa-Solomona has not applied for an exemption to be able to play in stadiums in the Sunshine State.
Yesterday, Storm CEO Justin Rodski said the Melbourne star forward had “provided all necessary information and certification to comply with the requirements of the Victorian and Queensland Governments to allow him to return for training and to play”.
His return was in doubt after it was revealed he initially refused to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
He was back at training with his Storm teammates yesterday after a stand-off with the club over the pre-season.
But Peter Psaltis revealed on 4BC Breakfast with Neil Breen that Queensland Health hadn’t received an application for an exemption.

In a statement, a Queensland Health spokesperson said anyone attending a sporting stadium in the Sunshine State must be fully vaccinated, or have an exemption.
“Anyone entering a major sporting stadium in Queensland must be fully vaccinated, unless they have a medical contraindication,” the statement read.
“We have no record of this NRL player attempting to seek an exemption to this rule.
“In any event, Queensland Health does not provide exemptions of this nature.”
