Queensland CHO makes ‘one of the best statements’ of the pandemic

Chris O’Keefe has commended Queensland’s goal to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19.
Chief Health Officer John Gerrard told the press people have two choices: being vaccinated or getting infected.
“Once we’ve done that, once the virus is spreading, once we all have some degree of immunity, the virus becomes endemic,” Dr Gerrard said.
“Health officials are comfortable with the rising cases, but are attempting to limit the spread as people get their booster shots.
Chris described the approach as “one of the best statements I have heard about coronavirus in this pandemic”.
“The virus is here to stay, we know that, but simple things, sensible things, small measures, vaccines…”
