Argentinian fans around the world are celebrating the nation’s historic World Cup win. 

The French threatened to break Argentinian hearts twice, first coming from two goals down to force the game into extra time, thanks to Kylian M’bappe.

The star forward then completed his hatrick to cancel out Messi’s second goal in extra time, sending the title to penalties after a 3-all draw.

But there was no coming back once goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez saved Kingsley Coman’s attempt, with Argentina going on to win the shootout 4-2.

Argentina super-fan Viviana Rolfo told Bill McDonald she is “absolutely ecstatic” this morning.

“I’ve taken a month off work, I’ve got a soccer ball handbag, I’ve gone to just about every match at the casino, the security guards, the waitresses all know me because I’m there every day.

“There was hundreds of Argentinian supporters, we chanted from about 9 o’clock last night and we didn’t stop until about 4, 5 o’clock this morning.”
