Pubs, clubs react to idea for widespread gambling reform in QLD
The body representing pubs and clubs has criticised a broad idea to be included in the gambling reforms likely to be imposed on Star Entertainment casinos.
The company faces huge shake-ups to gaming rooms and gambling machines in Queensland casinos after the damning Gotterson report.
Among the recommendations, punters would be prevented from sitting at the one machine for three hours.
Queensland Hotels Association CEO Bernie Hogan said there were already gaming regulations unique to pubs and clubs.
“It is a bit like one kind in the class playing up and the whole class getting detention,” he told Neil Breen.
He said pubs already have numerous restrictions with a limit on the number of gaming machines capped at 45 45 gaming machines, as well as loading limits.
