Prince Andrew has returned his military affiliations and royal patronages as he prepares to face a civil sexual abuse lawsuit in the United States.

Buckingham Palace says the Duke of York will continue to not undertake any public duties and is defending the case as a private citizen.

He will no longer be referred to as His Royal Highness.
