President Biden to issue economic sanctions on Ukraine’s rebel regions

President Biden is expected to issue an executive order prohibiting relations with Ukraine’s two breakaway regions.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has recognised two separatist territories in eastern Ukraine, intensifying the crisis between states.
A statement by US Press Secretary Jen Psaki said US citizens will soon be prohibited from new investment, trade and financing to, from or n the DNR and LNR regions of Ukraine.
“This E.O. will also provide authority to impose sanctions on any person determined to operate in those areas of Ukraine,” she wrote.
She wrote additional measures in response to today’s “blatant violation of Russia’s international commitments” will soon be announced
“To be clear: these measures are separate from and would be in addition to the swift and severe economic measures we have been preparing in coordination with Allies and partners should Russia further invade Ukraine.”
