Police urge drivers to plan ahead of Christmas Day

4bc news

Queenslanders are being urged to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time over the Christmas weekend.

The Pacific Motorway and Bruce Highway are tipped to be bumper to bumper from lunchtime Friday, as families take off for the Gold and Sunshine coasts ahead of Christmas Day.

Acting Chief Superintendent Chris Stream said roads will be busy right across the state.

“Those highways right through to areas like Dalby, areas nothin around Cairns and Kennedy Highway we are expecting to be busy,” he told the Today show.
