A man has been shot in the hand after allegedly pulling a gun on police in Flagstone, south of Brisbane.

It comes less than 24 hours after a man, allegedly carrying a gun, was shot dead by officers during a six-hour siege at Stretton.

Police were searching for the 56-year-old man this morning after he had allegedly made threats against people known to him.

“During the search police observed the male’s vehicle at this address,” Acting Inspector Jonathan Lavin said.

Police approached the man as he got out of his car, when it is alleged he produced a gun.

Nine News reporter Reece D’Alessandro said it all unfolded around 11.20am this morning.
