Police have located a boy who went missing while riding a scooter along the Esplanade at Burleigh Heads. 

The eight-year-old was last seen between the Burleigh Heads Surf Club and the North Burleigh Surf Club around 8am.

9News reporter Abbey Geran told Bill McDonald the boy was found at Main Beach, several kilometres away.

Police are searching for a boy who was last seen riding a scooter along the Esplanade at Burleigh Heads.

The eight-year-old was last seen between the Burleigh Heads Surf Club and the North Burleigh Surf Club around 8am.

He’s described as Caucasian, around 130 centimetres tall and of a slim build, with light brown hair cut in a mullet.

Police say he was wearing a navy blue t-shirt, black shorts and blue Asics runners at the time of his disappearance.

He was riding an orange scooter and wearing a black helmet.

Anyone with information about the boy’s whereabouts is urged to contact police.
