Investigators have returned to the place little William Tyrrell was last seen, conducting a fresh search seven years on.

William disappeared from his foster grandmother’s garden on the NSW Mid North Coast in 2014, when he was three years old.

Today, police are digging up a garden bed below a second-floor balcony in their search for clues.

Nine News reporter Kelly Fedor told Sofie Formica it’s part of a theory William may have fallen from the balcony.

It’s one of three locations of interest being scoured by police.

“I’m at a second scene, which is about one kilometre away,” Kelly said. “They’ve spent the last 24 hours or so clearing the undergrowth and they’ve now begun digging in this area as well.”
