Police begin ‘complex’ search for Leslie Trotter’s remains at rubbish dump sites
Queensland Police have revealed they are planning an extensive search for Leslie Trotter’s remains at two rubbish dump sites.
The 78-year-old Queensland woman went missing two weeks ago from her unit in Brisbane’s west.
Police said they believe Ms Trotter’s body was put in a general waste wheelie bin before being collected by a rubbish truck and taken to either a site at Rochedale or Swanbank.
The rubbish at both sites has now been quarantined.
“The search will be a complex and difficult operation,” Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham said on Tuesday afternoon.
“Excavation will be needed at the Rochedale site, at this stage, we won’t believe excavation will be required at the Swanbank site.
“This is obviously a disturbing development.”
