WHO ignores aerosol risk of coronavirus
Michael is joined by Lidia Morawska, Professor of atmospheric sciences & environmental engineering at Queensland University of Technology, who is one of many experts challenging the official view of how the coronavirus spreads with an open letter to the World Health Organisation outlining evidence that coronavirus is airborne.
“We are 100 percent sure about this,” said Professor Morawska. Scientists have demonstrated “beyond any reasonable doubt” that those microdroplets pose a risk beyond 1 to 2 metres, potentially making the 1.5 metre social distancing rule inadequate.
“We are concerned that people may think they are fully protected by following the current recommendations, but in fact, additional airborne precautions are needed to further reduce the spread of the virus.”
