‘We’ll get it done’: Peter Dutton says ‘quiet Australians’ are key to election win

Gary Hardgrave

Opposition leader Peter Dutton remains hopeful the Liberals will win tomorrow’s election despite polls claiming they’re on track to lose.

Talking to Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, he’s pointed to “quiet Australians’ as the key to a Liberal victory tomorrow.

“Who’re probably just ready to pass judgement on the last three years, and many Australians are saying they’re worse off than they were three years ago before this Prime Minister was elected,” he said.

“We’ve heard some really sad, tragic stories, actually around the country, including in Brisbane,” he added.

He also revealed he was humbled after meeting diggers during a visit to the Townsville RSL during the Anzac Day celebrations.

“It was humbling being in their presence … Ultimately, they’re willing to trade their life to keep us safe, I think sometimes we take it for granted,” he said.
