On the show: Peter Fegan recaps the Brisbane Council Elections and we hear your feedback on your experiences at the polls. Peter Gleeson calls in to break down the election results from yesterday and Adrian Schrinner’s storming victory. Gleeso talks about the specific seat gains and losses, and what this means for QLD Premier Steven Miles.
QLD Opposition Leader David Crisafulli calls in to share his reaction to the results and what message he thinks voters are sending to the State Government. He speaks on the LNP swings and also comments on the state of our current electoral processes. Greens Mayoral candidate Jonathan Sriranganathan calls in to share his perspective on the Greens performance and the key issues that have seen them pick up seats. Peter also asks Jonathan about his thoughts on compulsory preferential voting and what he plans to do post-election.
Reelected Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding talks to Peter after her success in the polls yesterday. She speaks on what she thinks are the core issues that her community have voted her in to address and what is next for one of the “fastest growing cities in Queensland”. Peter also asks Teresa if we will see a “Allan Langer Stand” at the new Ipswich Jets stadium.
Sarah Baldwin from Joy Restaurant also calls Peter from a train in Japan to tell us all about the 2x Michelin hat-restaurant in Fortitude Valley and how she has put her mark on this unique restaurant.
