Volkswagen’s sales lifts as supply improves

Volkswagen sales dipped last year by 24 percent on the back of supply issues
With a number of models this year however it’s a different story, Sales in the first four months up 51 percent on the back of its popular small T-Roc SUV and large Tiguan and Tiguan Allspace models. VW’s large premium SUV, the Toureg, is also enjoying strong growth from a low base, sales up 79 percent while the medium sized T-Cross light SUV showed a modest lift of 10 percent. Not an SUV, but the VW premium Arteon sedan and shooting brake, two models I highly rate, have shown a 100 per cent sales lift this year and it’s the same with the small Golf hatchback and wagon. But the good news is that the potent Golf GTi and R-Line hatch are back in stock – both now available in good numbers. I’m David Berthon
