Volkswagen’s new entry front drive 110TSI Tiquan SUV’s offer a value alternative

David Berthon

Talking about Volkswagen’s new entry front-wheel drive Tiquan SUV’s today. Returned to the market last September the 110TSI VW Tiguan Trendline and Comfortline sit in the popular $30-40,000 bracket where there’s some stiff competition. Both five seater’s they feature a 1.4-litre turbo four and six-speed DSG automatic – I tested the Comfortline presently on special for $39,990 drive-away – the 1.4-litre engine will satisfy most drivers although if you want more get up and go you can always opt for the 2.0-litre 132kW and 162kW models with all-wheel-drive. The front drive 110TSI Tiquan is a perfect family carrier for that daily commute and excels as a medium five-seater with a very nice cabin with good appointments offering excellent passenger space, especially in the rear,  and above average luggage space.

The 1.4 110 TSI Comfortline offers a high level of passive and active safety topped off by a local five-star crash safety rating. The autonomous emergency braking with welcome pedestrian detection – in the poor visibility conditions earlier this week a great addition. All up the Volkswagen 110TSi Comfortline is a value package at its present drive-away price but it needs to be, remember current stock is 2019-build and as such it’s already depreciated by one year. VW’s fixed price service charges are not the cheapest and range from $409 to $701 for the first five years with a cumulative total of $3,184.
