Volkswagen moves to five-year unlimited kilometre warranty

Five year warranties are in the news and a number of car companies have already moved to a five-year unlimited kilometre warranty including Ford, Honda, Mazda Hyundai and Skoda.

Volkswagen has also moved into this space in the last few weeks with all new VW’s sold between October 1 and December 31 offered with a five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty. The move will be used by used by Volkswagen Australia to gauge customer reaction to whether it becomes a permanent feature going forward. Volkswagen has also introduced drive-away pricing on selected models including its new generation Polo hatch 70TSi Trendline manual at $17,990, on the five-door Golf hatch 110TSI manual at $23,990, on its large Arteon automatic sedan at $68,990, and on the Amarok V6 Sportline 4 x 4 dual-cab ute at $53,990. Volkswagen sales are up 0.5 percent year to date, better than many of its European competitors, the small Golf still its best-seller with the latest series showing 14.8 per cent growth this year.
