Two people have been killed overnight in separate events in the Sydney to Hobart yacht race.

More details have come to light after two sailors lost their lives early this morning in the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.

The two sailors have been identified as 55-year-old Roy Quaden from Western Australia and 65-year-old Nick Smith from South Australia.
