‘Too much to ask’: Farmers renew calls for pricing transparency from the major supermarkets

Farmers are renewing the call for greater transparency from the major supermarkets.

Woolworths has announced its plans to slash the price of up to 400 of its products by 10 percent.

But it hasn’t specified what products are subject to the discounts — and the National Farmers Federation warns farmers will likely foot the bill.

Rural Editor Emily Minney spoke with the NFF’s Horticulture Council Executive Director Richard Shannon about the concerns.
