Michael is joined by Major Bruce Harmer from the Salvation Army Australia, regarding the Salvos Red Shield Appeal which is taking place this weekend May 29 and 30.

The Red Shield Appeal is The Salvation Army’s flagship fundraising appeal, now in its 56th year in Australia, to raise vital funds which enables The Salvos to continue serving Australians in need through their over 2000 centres and services across Australia.

In a typical year, The Salvos across Australia provided over 1 million sessions of care to those in need, supported more than 40,000 people experiencing homelessness, distributed 1.5 million meals through our homelessness services, gave over 43,000 sessions of care to those experiencing family and domestic violence, and handed out almost $100 million worth of financial assistance to people doing it tough.
