The Mazda CX-30 G20 Touring SUV – packed with features for $36,190
More on Mazda’s small CX-30 SUV today, the best seller in its class most
months, sales this year up on the same time last year despite the fact its
gained a lot more competition – The Mazda CX-30 sits between the CX-3
and mid-size CX-5 with choice of 2.0-litre petrol, 2.0-litre hybrid and 2.5-litre
petrol engines in front or all-wheel-drive. I drove the mid-spec 2.0-litre G20
Touring front wheel drive automatic at $36,190, not inexpensive but well
equipped for the money with an excellent level of driver assist technology,
comfort, safety, and convenience items. However, I recommend you spend
another $1,500, and buy the more powerful 2.5-litre G25 Touring front wheel
drive – with its better blend of performance and drivability. This Mazda is a
good looker from any angle. Equipment includes seven airbags, stability
and traction control, leather seat trim, driver attention detection, forward
collision warning, lane departure warning, a reversing camera, dual-zone
air, forward and rear autonomous emergency braking, tyre pressure
monitoring, front and rear parking sensors and LED Headlights. Build
quality first class backed by a five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty. The
Mazda CX-30 is the perfect package sized SUV for a small family and
retirees, modern in concept but very practical in detail. I’m David Berthon.
