A political expert has told 4BC Drive both the Liberal Party and the National Party need each other.

Senior fellow at the Centre of Independent Studies, Scott Prasser, says the past week has been a clear example of how not to do politics.

“I do think that there’s a bit of hot air going here, the National party got slightly grand ideas of what they are, and what they can achieve,” he said.

“Both parties need each other; that’s the facts of life in our system of government,” he continued.

Mr Prasser also noted the broken-up coalition has appeared to forget about the Labor Party, as he claimed the past week was painful to watch

“Grow up is the answer everyone should be saying to them,” he added.
