SsangYong re-emerges, now a full factory-backed subsidiary

SsangYong is back and this time its back as a fully factory backed subsidiary for the Korean brand, a first for the company worldwide. And with a four-model range that sets to grow next year with some interesting product. Models sold here previously were rugged and perhaps a little unrefined and at times plain ugly. However the brands renaissance is going to see a totally revitalised model line-up and its arrives in dealerships with sharp drive-away pricing, a seven-year unlimited kilometre warranty, road side assistance and fixed price servicing. First up, I’ll concentrate on SsangYong’s new small Tivoli SUV, it arrives in front drive EX and ELX with 1.6-litre petrol or diesel engines and as an all-wheel-drive automatic in the high grade Ultimate. Pricing running from 23,490 to 34, 490 drive-away. I drove it around Marysville in Victoria this week in both front and all-wheel-drive – on first impression a great effort in terms of room, practicality, features and price. I’m David Berthon
