Sowing the seeds of leaf rust resistant soybeans
Growers in Northern and Central New South Wales will soon be able to access a new variety of soybean – which is resistant to leaf rust.
It’s estimated the Gwydir variety can save farmers around $2,500 per hectare.
It’s also high-yielding, and has improved weathering tolerance.
Rural reporter Rhiannon Soliman-Marron caught up with Research Agronomist Dr Natalie Moore from the New South Wales Department of Primary Industries, to learn more about this new variety.
