Sing for joy! How music ‘eases isolation blues’

Couch choirs and balcony operas would once have seemed far-fetched, but they’re happening amid coronavirus lock downs around the world, and they’re only a few examples of how music is bringing joy to the masses in an otherwise difficult time.

Music is one of the most powerful influences on human mood and behavior, according to Australian Catholic University Professor of Music Tim McKenry, who joins John Stanley to discuss the broad benefits of participating in music by listening, dancing, streaming, singing, or any other way imaginable.
