Sexual development differences & the Olympics

Mike Jeffreys

Michael Gleeson, Award-winning senior sports writer specialising in AFL and athletics, joins Michael regarding his article that looks at whether female athletes defined as having differences in sexual development, or DSD athletes, have a competitive advantage over other women.

The debate was reignited this week following two runners, Namibian teenagers Christine Mboma and Beatrice Masilingi with naturally occurring high testosterone levels, racing in the Olympic final of the women’s 200m in Tokyo.
