Seniors stranded: The missing link in the $25 billion hospital deal

Despite a massive $25 billion federal funding boost for public hospitals, advocates warn the deal ignores the critical “stranded patient” crisis, where thousands of elderly Australians are stuck in wards simply because there are no aged care beds available.

National Seniors Australia CEO Chris Grice joined Jason Matthews on 4BC Mornings to argue that without dedicated funding to discharge these patients into appropriate homes, hospital overcrowding and “ramping” will continue unabated.
