Scientists sign open letter demanding end to land clearing
More than 250 scientists have written an open letter to the federal government, urging Labor to end land clearing and native forest logging before next election.
They say net zero emissions will be impossible without halting the practice, which increases erosion, influences rainfall, and affects waterways.
Rural reporter Ella Smith spoke to Australian Conservation Foundation spokesman Nathaniel Pelle about the letter, and the role agriculture plays in land clearing.
