Travellers heading through regional communities are being reminded to take precautions at railway crossings.

A campaign is being launched to promote safety around level crossings.

On average, they cause around 3 deaths, 30 collisions and almost 1,000 near misses each year.

Rural reporter Georgia Kondek spoke with Regional Railway Crossing Campaign Ambassador Tom Forrest to discuss the safety messages for people on the roads.
