RACQ Road Safety and Technical Manager Joel Tucker told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “Your hinterland roads aren’t designed with a lot of the other safety features.”

“They don’t have divided traffic, there’s no centre barriers and things like that to prevent head-ons.”

“So rider behaviour and driver behaviour becomes important on these types of roads because there is very little margin for error,” Mr Tucker said.
