QR codes improving fruit traceability

Consumers are being given access to data that determines how fresh the fruit they’re purchasing really is.

QR codes have been placed on seedless watermelons as part of a trial – sharing grower information, the date of harvest and the date it was cut instore.

Rural reporter Meg Van Lohuizen caught up with Melons Australia chief executive Johnathon Davey to find out more.
