Putting the wrong fuel in your car could cost thousands of dollars in damage

Maybe it’s happened to you but putting the wrong fuel in your car can be a costly business. It’s more prevalent with diesel engined vehicles because the smaller petrol nozzle fits into the diesel fuel filler neck – whereas the larger diesel nozzle won’t fit into the petrol filler. If you put petrol into a diesel engine car don’t under any circumstances try to start it – push it to one side and have the tank drained and flushed – otherwise if you start it it will cost many thousands of dollars in repair bills. According to Wrong Fuel Rescue, a leading specialist in misfuelling recovery, tens of thousands of motorists are filling their cars with the wrong fuel and its costing millions of dollars in unnecessary costs and lost productivity. Its more prevalent with fleet vehicles, rentals, dealer
demonstrators and service cars where multiple users are filling up. Wrong Fuel Rescue by the way is a nationwide service and offers a 24/7 mobile service capable of draining and flushing the fuel system. I’m David Berthon
