Port Douglas spared the worst as 315km/h Cyclone Narelle bears down on Cape York

Nine Weatherman Garry Youngberry joined Dean & Sofie on 4BC Breakfast to share an on-the-ground update from Port Douglas, where heavy sideways rain has set in after residents lost power to Cyclone Narelle overnight.

The massive system, boasting wind gusts of over 300km/h, is expected to cross the coast near Coen before intensifying as it heads toward the Northern Territory.
