Police spray blue ink to identify Hong Kong protesters

Mike Jeffreys

Kirsty Needham, China Correspondent for The Sydney Morning Herald & The Age
joins Luke Grant with the latest news on the Hong Kong riots where police are now spraying protesters with blue ink in a bid to identify them.

Ms Needham reports ‘tens of thousands of protesters poured onto the streets Saturday afternoon, many not wearing face masks, in defiance of a police ban on any form of protest rally.

Many of the protesters were middle aged, and sang religious hymns as they walked through the shopping district of Central in an attempt to use a legal loophole that exempts religious gatherings from public order laws.’
