Peugeot’s small 308 range realigned with diesel power dropped from range

Welcome news from Peugeot with its small 308 line-up just realigned with sharper drive-away pricing. Gone is diesel power, so too the 308 GT manual, the three new models powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine linked to a six-speed Aisin automatic. The engine highly credentialed – the six-time International Engine of the Year. The revised Peugeot 308 line-up, kicks off with the 308 five-door Allure hatchback at $31,490, the 308 five-door Allure Sportswagon at $33,490 and the new 308-GT line five-door-hatch at $36,490 – all drive-away. The GT-line maintaining the muscular appearance of the now deleted 308 GT and GTi variants. On face value from my standpoint the GT-line is very highly equipped – on top of the Allure models extensive active and passive driving aids gaining a panoramic glass roof, LED headlights and fog lights, 18-inch black alloy wheels, exclusive cloth trim with red highlights plus a very comprehensive instrument read-out. Peugeot Warranty: five-years unlimited with fixed price servicing.
