Peugeot’s first all-electric passenger model the E2008 SUV

DAVID BERTHON

French maker Peugeot has launched its first all-electric passenger model on the
Australian market – the small E2008 GT SUV arrives with a price point of $59,990
echoing the styling of the models three petrol variants yet is some $16,500 dearer
to the pure petrol GT. With an electric motor driving the front wheels the Peugeot
E2008 offers 100kW of power and 260Nm of torque and a rather light on range of
328Km. As we all know the manufacturers stated range for electric cars is a
laboratory test which is hard to achieve in the real world. However, for most
urban applications the range is more than acceptable for a day’s motoring.
Looking over this small electric Peugeot E2008 is has a nice character with a high
equipment list but it misses out on such niceties of a powered rear tailgate and
rear seat air vents. I’m David Berthon
