Star fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen has been released from his Melbourne Storm contract and is reportedly heading to the new global R360 rugby union competition, raising concerns about a player drain from the NRL.

Peter Psaltis weighed in that while some individuals may chase the money, the NRL is bigger than any single player.
