Today the Federal Government announced unemployment had risen to 7.4%, the highest it has been in almost 20 years.

Can we rely on these numbers? The Institute of Public Affairs believes it’s closer to 12%, made up disproportionately by young people. Whether it be 7% or 12%, it’s an extremely dire situation the nation is in.

A man who has been breaking down these numbers is Kurt Wallace, a research fellow at the  Institute of Public Affairs, and he joins Luke Grant.
